The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is developing plans to rehabilitate the pavement and improve safety on the Milford Parkway (State Road 796) and rehabilitate Bridge No. 01445 over East Rutland Road in Milford.
The project involves milling and paving Milford Parkway, as well as lengthening acceleration and deceleration lanes by revising the lane arrangements with pavement markings. Multiple overhead signs will be replaced to accommodate the new lane arrangements. The roadside safety hardware will be replaced and brought up to current standards. Bridge No. 01445 carrying Milford Parkway over East Rutland Road is planned to be rehabilitated to address damage to one of the girders.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in September 2025, with construction anticipated to start in spring 2026, assuming acceptance of the project, availability of funding and receipt of any required right-of-way and environmental permits. This project will be undertaken with eighty percent (80%) Federal funds and twenty percent (20%) State funds.
It’s important to CTDOT to ensure the public’s feedback and thoughts are heard and included.
