The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTODOT) is announcing that start of work at various intersections in Ellington, Manchester, South Windsor, Vernon, and Windsor will begin on July 10, 2023.
The project consists of replacing the existing traffic signals with new span poles, mast arms and the associated items such as trenching, backfilling, new conduits, video and radar detection and hand holes to complete the new installations. The project also consists of pedestrian modifications such as new sidewalk ramps and pedestrian push buttons.
DOT Project No. 0171-0455 was awarded to The NY-CONN Corporation at a cost of $4,217,288.00 on November 16, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed on September 17, 2024. The project is being administered by the CTDOT Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction District 1 in Rocky Hill.

Lane closures for ramps, turning roadways and all other project roadways may occur Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. The traffic control signals being revised are listed below.
