The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the right lane closure of Route 2 Eastbound from the Pitkin Street Overpass to the Hockanum River Bridge beginning on July 5, 2022, weather permitting.
The temporary right lane closure of Route 2 Eastbound will be implemented while maintaining two travel lanes and is necessary as part of the safety and operational improvements on Route 2 in East Hartford, Hartford, and Glastonbury. The right lane closure is being implemented to facilitate the reconstruction of the Hockanum River Bridge.
DOT Project No. 0042-0317 was awarded to Empire Paving a cost of $61,786,112.84 on April 5, 2021 and is scheduled to be complete in August of 2024. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

There will be a lane closure of the temporary right lane on Route 2 Eastbound from the Pitkin Street Overpass to the Hockanum River Bridge from July 5, 2022 until November 1, 2022. Two travel lanes will remain open to traffic.
