The Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a Public Informational Meeting concerning the proposed replacement of Bridge No. 07036 on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022. The formal presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The project is identified as State Project No. 0057-0122.
The purpose of the project is to replace the existing 6 ft. round, single-barrel asphalt-coated corrugated metal pipe (ACCMP) culvert, because it has passed its useful service life. The project is anticipated to involve the replacement of the existing culvert with a new precast concrete box culvert. Access roads will be constructed at the inlet and outlet ends to allow for installation of the new structure and for future maintenance operations. The new structure will be located approximately 25 feet west of the existing culvert and the existing unnamed brook will be realigned with the new structure. Additionally, the new structure will consist of new headwalls, wingwalls, cutoff walls and return walls at the inlet and outlet ends.
There are right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements. Temporary construction easements will be required on adjacent private property in order to perform the work necessary to realign the existing brook through the new structure.
Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2025 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way and approval of permits. The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $2.0 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 100 percent State funds.
