The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 8 Southbound.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 6.25-mile segment of Route 8 Southbound in Watertown & Waterbury. The milling of this project is scheduled to occur Monday, September 12, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed on Sunday September 25, 2022. The resurfacing of this project is scheduled to occur on Sunday October 2, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed Thursday, October 20, 2022.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2022 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8 Southbound between Exits 38 & 35. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday through Thursday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
