The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that road improvement work on State Roads in Central CT is starting April 1, 2022. Lane closures are expected.
This project consists of pavement resurfacing, high friction surface treatment (HFST) application, and pavement marking work in District 1 (Central CT). The work will consist of the mill and overlay of inadequate pavement, application of HFST, and the removal/installation of pavement markings at horizontal curves on State-owned and maintained roads.
DOT Project No. 0171-0469 was awarded to Empire Paving Inc. of North Haven, CT at a cost of $2,210,876.43 on December 29, 2021 and is scheduled to be completed on October 21, 2022. The project is being administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction District 1, Rocky Hill.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
Motorists can expect lane closures on the following roadways U.S. Route 6 (Bristol), and Routes 30 (South Windsor), 31 (Coventry), 68 (Cheshire), 69 (Bristol), 74 (Ellington), 140 (East Windsor), 171 (Union), 191 (East Windsor), 192 (Enfield), 197 (Union), 305 (Bloomfield), 322 (Wolcott), 533 (Vernon/Bolton), and 534 (Manchester) Monday through Friday from 6p.m. to 6a.m. and/or 7a.m. to 4p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 7p.m. to 10a.m.
