Exit Sign Replacement on CT Route 9 in Multiple Towns from Old Saybrook to Farmington

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announces the replacement of exit signing on Route 9 from the I-95 Interchange in Old Saybrook to the I-84 Interchange in Farmington

Project Nos. 7-189 and 172-473 involves the resigning of CT Route 9 from the I-95 Interchange in the town of Old Saybrook to the I-84 Interchange in the town of Farmington. Exit numbering will be revised for all of Route 9 from sequential to mileage-based numbering. Exit numbers will now correspond with the Route 9 mile point associated with the exit.  During the course of construction, the Department will be installing new signs to post both the “Old Exit” numbers and the new exit numbers.  It is an ongoing operation between two projects.  Every effort will be made to assure the direction for exit numbering is clear to the motoring public.
