The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that construction will begin on the Rehabilitation of Bridge No.00653 on Route 10 over Hop Brook in the Town of Simsbury on April 01, 2022. Utility Work associated with the project will be conducted during the months prior to the start of the project during the months of February and March 2022.
The project scope involves superstructure replacement, substructure rehabilitation and installation of scour countermeasures for scour mitigation near the abutment.
DOT Project No. 0128-0153 was awarded to Dayton Construction Company, Inc. at a cost of $3,084,641.00 on November 29, 2021, and is scheduled to be completed on November 30, 2022. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 4 in Thomaston.

The work will be completed with various stage shifts maintaining one lane in each direction with alternating traffic during allowable times Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The Farmington Canal Heritage Trail will be maintained with a temporary pedestrian bridge downstream of the bridge.
