The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that Bridge No. 06887 over Shady Brook will be replaced for the upcoming construction season starting June 20, 2022.
Replacement of Bridge No. 06887 on Route 151 over Shady Brook in East Haddam consists of removal and replacement of existing culvert substructures. Route 151 will also be widened, and sidewalk will be installed along the perimeter of the town hall building. This project will greatly improve the storm water drainage system and reduce the risk of flooding in the surrounding area.
DOT Project No. 0040-0144 was awarded to Dayton Construction Company, Inc. at a cost of $2,164,922.50 on November 10, 2021, and is scheduled to be completed October 31, 2022. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
There is a possibility of lane closures to allow for pre-closure work Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wait times for these temporary traffic patterns will not exceed 10 minutes.

ROUTE 151 will be closed from June 20, 2022 to August 15, 2022.
Route 151 (Town Street) Southbound traffic will be detoured as follows:
From Route 151 (Town Street), take East Haddam Moodus Road, take a left onto Route 149, take a left onto Route 82, and then take Route 151 (Town Street).
Route 151 (Town Street) Northbound traffic will be detoured as follows:
Follow Route 151 (Town Street), turn right onto Route 82, take a right onto Route, take a right onto East Haddam Moodus Road, take a right onto Route 151 (Town Street).
