The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing bridge rehabilitation along I-95 northbound Exit 27A to Route 8 northbound in Bridgeport will begin on or about April1, 2022. This project increases the exiting capacity on I-95 NB at Exit 27-A by widening ramp to accommodate a two-lane exit from I-95 northbound to Route 8 northbound.
The project consists of modifications to Bridge No. 00107 which carries I-95 over Warren Street and Bridge No. 03532 which carries the Exit 27A offramp over South Frontage Road in Bridgeport. The adding of a lane to the Exit 27A off ramp from I-95 northbound will relieve traffic congestion in the right lane of I-95 northbound. The project will also include replacement of six overhead sign structures on I-95 northbound from Exit 24 to Exit 27A.
DOT Project No. 0015-0382 was awarded to Rotha Contracting Company of Avon, Conn. on December 7, 2021 for $8,924453.30 with an official start date of April 1, 2022. The project is expected to be complete in December 2023. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction – District 3, New Haven.
