Bridge Maintenance, Asphaltic Plug Joint Installation on Route 8 Northbound & Southbound in Shelton
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on Route 8 in Shelton.
The project consists of Asphaltic Joint Installation to the Route 8 Northbound and Southbound bridges over the Housatonic River and Route 110 (# 00571A), over Hull Avenue (#00571B), over Hull Avenue and Riverdale Avenue (#00571C), and over Long Hill Avenue (#00568). This project is scheduled to occur the evening of Sunday October 23, 2022, to the morning of Thursday, November 10, 2022.
The work is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2022 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs and is being performed by Dynamic Surface Applications.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8 Northbound and Southbound in Shelton between Exit 13 (Constitution Boulevard) and Exit 15 (Main Street) in Shelton and Derby. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. (Sunday evenings through Thursday mornings).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
