The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that scheduled weekday detours associated with safety improvements on Route 127 in the vicinity of Evers Street in Bridgeport will begin on or about March 22, 2021.
Motorists traveling on Route 127 (East Main Street) in the vicinity of Beardlsey Park, can expect to be detoured onto Broadbridge Road and Huntington Turnpike. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour. Local access to residences and businesses on Route 127 will remain available. The regular schedule for this detour will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The detour is necessary to facilitate construction activities associated with Project 0015-0335 involving the realignment of Route 127 in the vicinity of Evers Street in Bridgeport. The project was awarded to Dayton Construction Company, Inc. at a cost of $4,461,269 on January 6, 2019, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2022.
Segments of the following routes will be impacted by this project:
· Route 127 (East Main Street) between Broadbridge Road and Route 730 (Huntington Turnpike)
· Route 730 (Huntington Turnpike) between Broadbridge Road and Route 127 (East Main Street)
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to these schedules may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and to utilize caution through this and all other construction work zones.
