Safety Improvement on I-95 Northbound and Southbound in Groton and Stonington

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a safety improvement project will be performed on I-95, northbound & southbound, in Groton & Stonington.

The project consists of installing guiderail on I-95, northbound & southbound, in Groton & Stonington.  This project is scheduled to begin on Monday, December 13, 2021, through Friday, January 28, 2022.  No work will be performed on Thursday, December 23, and Friday, December 24, 2021, and Thursday, December 30, and Friday, December 31, 2021, due to the Christmas and New Year’s Eve holidays. 

This work is being performed by Atlas Industrial.  The vendor shall supply the Call-Before-You-Dig number for this location.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on I-95, northbound & southbound, in Groton near Exit 88 and Stonington near Dean’s Mill overpass (Mystic Reservoir).  Crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).

 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
