The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of construction activities to rehabilitate three culverts under I-395 between Exits 13 and 18 in Norwich.
The project consists of relining the culvert flow line at Hammer Brook, Slip-lining the culvert at Byron Brook, and replacing the culvert at an Unnamed Brook in the vicinity of the Canterbury Turnpike overpass.
Temporary shoulder closures on the Exit 14 southbound off-ramp and Exit 14 northbound on-ramp will occur. Shoulder closures will occur at Byron Brook northbound and southbound around June 30, 2021. Lane shifts will occur at Unnamed Brook in the Vicinity of Canterbury Turnpike overpass from June 25, 2021, to August 16, 2021.
DOT Project No. 0103-0266 was awarded to the John Rocchio Corporation at a cost of $2,457,618.61 on December 22, 2020, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2021.
