The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of construction activities for the rehabilitation of Bridge 03400D carrying the I-84 eastbound Exit 46 Off-ramp to Sisson Avenue in Hartford, beginning on February 1, 2021.
The project consists of removing the existing pavement surface, repairing the deck and substructure, structural steel repairs, bearing replacement, beam-end painting, installation of a new waterproofing membrane as well as a new pavement overlay.
LANE CLOSURE AND DETOUR INFORMATION
Motorists can expect lane closures on the I-84 eastbound Exit 46 off-ramp, Capitol Avenue and Forest Street, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, as well as Saturday and Sunday, between 6:00 PM and 10:00 AM.
The contractor will be allowed daily complete closures and detours of the I-84 eastbound Exit 46 off-ramp to Sisson Avenue between the hours of 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM. The detour will direct motorist from Exit 46 to Exit 48B.
DOT Project No. 0063-0694 was awarded to Rotha Contracting Co., Inc of Avon, CT at a cost of $2,350,000.00, on October 26, 2020, and is scheduled to be completed on November 30, 2021.
