The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of construction for the project to rehabilitate Bridges 06793 and 06794 carrying I-395 over Little Mountain Brook and Unnamed Brook in Thompson.
Initial work activity, beginning on April 1, 2021, will consist of installation of advance warning signage, removal of invasive vegetation, clearing and grubbing, installation of erosion control, and installation of concrete barrier and impact attenuators along I-395, including construction of access roads.
Motorists can expect temporary right lane closures in Thompson on I-395 northbound and southbound in two locations, one just south of the Route 193 overpass and the second just north of the Gladding Road overpass between April 1, 2021, and November 30, 2021. Anticipated work hours are Monday – Friday, 7am until 4pm.The right shoulder in both the north and southbound directions on I-395 will be closed in the same locations for the majority of the construction duration and motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
DOT Project No. 0141-0154 was awarded to PJF Construction Corp. at a cost of $2,094,742.45 on January 04, 2021, and is scheduled to be completed by November 30, 2021.
