The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 187 in Bloomfield.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.65-mile segment of Route 187 from the Hartford town line to Route 218 (Cottage Grove Road) in Bloomfield. The milling portion of the project is scheduled to occur Thursday, July 15, 2021, to Tuesday, July 20, 2021. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to occur Monday, July 26, 2021, to Thursday, July 29, 2021.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 187 from the Hartford town line to Route 218 in Bloomfield. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for milling is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday). The regular work schedule resurfacing is 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
