The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on I-91 northbound from Exit 32A to the US44 overpass in Hartford.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.59-mile segment of I-91 northbound from Exit 32A to the US44 overpass in Hartford. This project is scheduled to begin milling on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 to Monday, July 12, 2021. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Monday, July 12, 2021 to Friday, July 23, 2021. The network schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday).
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on I-91 northbound from Exit 32A to the US44 overpass in Hartford. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The following locations will experience short duration detours: Motorists entering I-91 north from the Whitehead Highway will be detoured south to Exit 26, Marsh Street and will be guided to turn around and enter I-91 northbound. Motorists looking to use Exit 32 A/B will be detoured north to Exit 33, Jennings Road to turn around and enter Exits 32 A/B heading south. Motorists looking to access I-91 north from Grove Street will be guided south on Columbus Boulevard, to the Whitehead Highway in which they can access I-91 north. All buses and emergency personnel will be allowed through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
