Guiderail Upgrade Project on Route 8 Southbound Between Exits 41 and 40 in Litchfield and Thomaston
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work activities will take place from Monday, April 12, 2021, through Friday, April 30, 2021, for the project to upgrade guiderail on Route 8 southbound between Exits 41 and 40 in Litchfield and Thomaston.
The project consists of upgrading existing wood pole guide rail systems to current modern systems.
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
