The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a City of New Haven project to reconstruct South Frontage Road will require the closure of the Oak Street Connector (Route 34) to I-91 northbound and I-95 north and southbound in New Haven from June 1, 2021, at 6 AM, until November 1, 2021, at 6 PM. The project is being performed by the City of New Haven under an encroachment permit with the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
Motorists can expect the South Frontage Road access to the Oak Street Connector (Route34) to be closed at College Street. Motorists should follow the signed detour and utilize Route 10 for access to I-95 north and southbound. Motorist seeking I-91 northbound should follow the detour to I-95 northbound and then access I-91 northbound.
