What are the penalties for providing false information for proof of vaccines?

It is a crime under federal law to use, buy, sell, or transfer a CDC vaccination card knowing that it is fraudulent. A violation of this federal law (18 U.S.C. SEC. 1017) is punishable by a fine or imprisonment of up to five years. In addition, submission of false information regarding vaccination or testing results is punishable under state law (C.G.S. Sec. 53a-157b) by a fine of up to $2,000 or imprisonment of up to one year.
