DAS Expands CT Gateway Portal

CT Gateway now hosts the state’s Construction Contractor Prequalification application

(January 6, 2025) In November, Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Commissioner Michelle Gilman and the DAS Procurement team announced the launch of CT Gateway, a new cloud-based portal that streamlines the user experience for companies that want to do business with the state. CT Gateway launched with the state’s Small/Minority Business Enterprise certification in the fall and has now expanded to host the state’s Construction Contractor Prequalification application.

Prequalification is required for contractors planning to bid on or perform work for state-funded, public projects that cost more than $1M.

The prequalification application on CT Gateway includes several new, user-friendly processes:

  • Mobile-friendly application
  • Greater accessibility for individuals with disabilities
  • Realtime project evaluation integration
  • Immediate inclusion in a web-based directory of prequalified companies

The Biznet platform will no longer process prequalification applications. Other agencies will continue to use Biznet for various functions.

Coming in 2025, DAS will expand CT Gateway to include additional programs:

  • State Surplus Vehicle sales
  • Federal Surplus Property acquisition

“Improving technology and making it easier for businesses to have our services online is an important priority for DAS and Governor Lamont’s administration. We’re pleased to expand the functions of CT Gateway and look to add additional functions in the future,” said DAS Commissioner Michelle Gilman

“CCIA represents diverse sectors within the construction industry, with many of our members contracting and subcontracting on state jobs,” said Don Shubert, President of the Connecticut Construction Industries Association. “The prequalification certification is vital to their livelihood. An improved, more accessible application, especially its mobile-friendly design, offers significant benefits by making the process easier and more efficient for contractors working in the field.”
