Project 0010-0090 Webpage

Welcome to the webpage for Project 0010-0090, Intersection Improvements on Route 132 at Magnolia Hill Road in the Town of Bethlehem.

A Virtual Public Information Meeting (VPIM) was held for the project on January 11, 2024. The recording of that event can be accessed at the CTDOT Virtual Public Information Meeting Video Library.

The purpose of the project is to correct the deficient sight distances on Route 132 at its intersections with Magnolia Hill Road and Nonnewaug Road, and to simplify the intersection geometry. An existing roadside embankment restricts sightline along Route 132 as it turns 90 degrees, and the existing intersection configuration requires long turning maneuvers to and from Route 132 with Magnolia Hill Road and Nonnewaug Road.

There are right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements such as a small acquisition and slope easements.

Construction is anticipated to begin in Fall 2025 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s).  The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $2,900,000. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
