DOT Project 0123-0068 Webpage

Welcome to the webpage for Project 0123-0068, Replacement of Bass Road Bridge over Merrick Brook, in the Town of Scotland.

The purpose of this project is to address the failure of Bridge No. 04772 and open Bass Road to vehicular traffic by designing a replacement structure that meets all current design standards.

There are right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements. These impacts are on private and state property and will consist of temporary construction easements for access, grading, and water handling.

Construction is anticipated to begin Spring 2027 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s).  The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $3,260,000. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.

A Virtual Public Information Meeting (VPIM) was held for the project on August 27, 2024. The recording of that event can be accessed at the Virtual Public Information Meeting Video Library. Scroll down that page to find the video.
