Project 0170-3783 Webpage

Welcome to the webpage for Project 0170-3783, Installation of Centerline Rumble Strips on Route 10 (Waterville Rd) in Farmington and Avon.

A virtual public informational meeting for the project will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. This meeting aims to inform the community about the proposed project, gather feedback, and answer any questions.

The project involves systematically installing centerline rumble strips on state roads as part of normal paving operations. Centerline rumble strips (CLRS) are a low-cost, proven safety countermeasure that alert drivers when they drift out of a lane, reducing head-on collisions and roadway departure crashes. The planned CLRS extents on Route 10 are from 0.25 miles north of Route 4 (Farmington Ave) to the Avon/Farmington town line.

Right-of-way impacts are not anticipated with this project. Construction is expected to start in 2026. The estimated cost is $11,000 with 100% state funds at no cost to the town.

The proposed project plans can be viewed here:
