Milling and Resurfacing Project: Route 178 in Bloomfield and Windsor from Route 189 (Bloomfield Avenue) to Route 159

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on, Route 178 in Bloomfield, and Windsor from Route 189 (Bloomfield Avenue) to Route 159 starting Thursday, May 2, 2024. The project DOT01710506CN “C” and “M” consists of milling and resurfacing a 5.20-mile segment of Route 178 in Bloomfield, and Windsor from Route 189 (Bloomfield Avenue) to Route 159. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Rafferty Fine Grading, Inc. on Thursday May 2 to Wednesday, May 15, 2024. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Sunday, May 12, to Tuesday, June 4, 2024, by Galasso Materials.

This project is included in CTDOT’s 2024 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on, Route 178 in Bloomfield, and Windsor from Route 189 (Bloomfield Avenue) to Route 159. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is Thursday, May 2 to Tuesday, June 4, 2024, 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
