CTDOT is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 66, Service Road 545, and Saint John Square in Middletown. This project is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, September 18 and be completed on Monday, September 30, 2024. The project DOT01710506CN consists of milling and resurfacing of a 2.63-mile segment Route 66 and Service Road 545 Washington Street in Middletown from Route 3 (Newfield Street) to Route 9, also Route 17 Saint John Square from ¼ mile south of Main Street to Route 9. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Rafferty Fine Grading on Wednesday, September 18 to Sunday, September 22, 2024. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Monday, September 23 to Monday, September 30, 2024, by Tilcon.
This project is included in CTDOT’s 2024 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 66 and Service Road 545 Washington Street in Middletown from Route 3 (Newfield Street) to Route 9, also Route 17 Saint John Square from ¼ mile south of Main Street to Route 9. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday – Friday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
