The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the continued demolition of the 1985 Parking Garage and Pedestrian Bridge at the Stamford Transportation Center in Stamford. Work includes the complete demolition of the pedestrian bridge that connects the 1985 portion of the parking garage to the Stamford Transportation Center. Additionally, the 1985 portion of the Parking Garage will be demolished in its entirety. Please note that a portion of the garage will be opened, known as the ‘2004 garage,’ with limited parking in the 2004 portion. Permitted customers will have access to the 2004 section of the garage, when March 11, 2024, activities commence, with access only available from Atlantic Street. The Station Place Road entrances will be closed. It is urged that all commuters currently utilizing parking in the 1985 area, start relocating to the newly opened parking garage on South State Street, opened on February 26, 2024.

CTDOT Project no. 0301-0513 was awarded to Manafort Brothers Inc. and is scheduled to be completed by Fall 2024.

The project is being administered by the Office of Construction in District 5, New Haven.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other such conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity and be guided by construction signs and lane devices.
