The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that alternating one-way traffic controlled by a temporary traffic signal and nighttime closure on Paddock Avenue over Route 15 will be used in Meriden. The alternating one-way traffic will allow one lane on the bridge to remain open during the replacement of the bridge which will last for 2.5 years. Predominately nighttime work will occur between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and will include a closure of Paddock Avenue. The detour will be posted.
CTDOT Project No. 0079-0246 was awarded to O&G Industries at a cost of $185,000,000 on January 29, 2024, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2028. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering & Construction, Division of Construction Operations, District 1 in Rocky Hill, CT.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will be alternating one-way traffic on Paddock Avenue over Route 15 between Barr Road and Overlook Road, starting Sunday, September 8, 2024, and will last for 2.5 years.
There will be lane closures on Paddock Avenue over Route 15 between Barr Road and Overlook Road Monday to Friday between 6:00pm to 6:00am and Saturday and Sunday between 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m.
A detour will be posted directing traffic eastbound on Murdock Avenue to Research Parkway to East Main Street and finally to Paddock Avenue. Another detour will be posted directing traffic eastbound on East Main Street to Research Parkway to Murdock Avenue and finally to Paddock Avenue.
