The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a Wrong Way Detection Installation will be performed on the Exit 3A northbound off ramp from Route 349 (Clarence B. Sharp Hwy.) in Groton starting on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am.
This project is administered by the Department of Transportation Electrical Sign Installation, District 1.
LANE CLOSURE INFO/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect a temporary ramp closure to occur on Route 349 (Clarence B. Sharp Hwy.) at the Exit 3A northbound off ramp to Route 1 in Groton. A detour will be in place at this location. Traffic will be detoured to Exit 88 northbound, left off Exit 88 onto Route 117, right onto I-95 southbound, left onto Exit 87 and right onto exit towards Route 1 in Groton. Variable message boards will be set up approximately one (1) week prior to the work beginning. Crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The nighttime work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
