The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a wrong-way detection system installation will be performed at the Exit 3A northbound off-ramp from Route 349 (Clarence B. Sharp Highway) in Groton from Wednesday evening, November 29 to Thursday morning, November 30, 2023.
CLOSURE INFO:
Motorists can expect a temporary ramp closure to occur on Route 349 (Clarence B. Sharp Highway) at the Exit 3A northbound off-ramp to Route I in Groton. A detour will be in place at this location.
Traffic will be detoured to Exit 88 northbound, left off Exit 88 onto Route 117, right onto 1-95 southbound, left onto Exit 87 and right onto exit towards Route 1 in Groton. Crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
The nighttime work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Wednesday and Thursday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
