The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a resurfacing project will be performed on Interstate 395 northbound and southbound in Griswold and Plainfield starting on Wednesday, August 2 through Friday, October 13, 2023. The project consists of resurfacing a 11.15-mile segment of I-395 northbound and southbound in Griswold and Plainfield, including on/off ramps.
Work will end at 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning, September 1 and will resume at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, September 5, 2023, due to the Labor Day holiday.
This project is included in the CTDOT’s 2023 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
Motorists can expect lane, ramp, and shoulder closures to occur on I-395 northbound and southbound from 0.26 miles south of the Route 201 overlap to 0.45 miles south of the Plainfield/Killingly town line. One (1) state trooper, crash attenuator vehicles, variable message boards, and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The nighttime work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday evening – Friday morning. The daytime work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
