The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that replacement of catch basin tops will require the on-ramps and off-ramps on I-95 between Exit 51 and 54 in New Haven, East Haven, and Branford to be closed intermittently.
The project will be replacing and resetting catch basin tops located on the On and Off ramps on I-95 northbound and southbound between Interchanges 51 and 54 in New Haven, East Haven, and Branford. Intermittent ramp closures are schedule to occur Sundays through Saturdays between May 22 and June 17 during nighttime operations between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am. Only one ramp closure and detour will be in place at a given time.
The ramps are schedule to close intermittently during the following timeframe:
- Exit 53 Southbound On Ramp - 5/22 through 6/3
- Exit 53 Northbound Off Ramp - 5/22 through 6/3
- Exit 52 Southbound Off Ramp - 5/22 through 6/3
- Exit 52 Northbound On Ramp - 5/22 through 6/3
- Exit 51 Southbound Off Ramp - 5/30 through 6/10
- Exit 51 Southbound On Ramp - 5/30 through 6/10
- Exit 51 Northbound Off Ramp - 5/30 through 6/10
- Exit 51 Northbound On Ramp - 5/30 through 6/10
- Exit 54 Southbound On Ramp - 5/30 through 6/17
- Exit 54 Northbound Off Ramp - 5/30 through 6/17

Motorists can expect intermittent ramp closures between 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Sunday night through Sunday morning on I-95 between Interchanges 51 and 54. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. Motorist must follow the posted detour signs during ramp closures.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
