Milling and Resurfacing Project: Route 1 and State Maintained 908 (Colman Street) in New London

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 1 and State Maintained 908 (Colman Street) in New London starting on Sunday, August 13 to Wednesday, August 23, 2023. The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.69-mile segment of Route 1 and a 0.16-mile segment of State Maintained 908 (Colman Street) in New London. The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Sunday evening, August 13, through Wednesday morning, August 16, 2023. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday evening, August 20, through Wednesday morning, August 23, 2023. 

This project is included in the CTDOT’s 2023 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 1 from Jefferson Avenue to Vauxhall Street and State Maintained 908 (Colman Street) from Route 1 northbound to the exit from State Route 623 (North Frontage Road) in New London.  Crash attenuator vehicles, traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday evening – Friday morning.

 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
