Milling and Resurfacing Project: Route 8 Southbound Thomaston/Waterbury and Route 8 Northbound Waterbury
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 8 Southbound between Exits 40 & 39, Route 8 Southbound & Northbound Waterbury between Route 73, and I-84 Interchange. The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 5.55-mile segment of Route 8 Southbound and Northbound in Thomaston & Waterbury. The milling of this project is scheduled to occur Sunday, July 23 and is scheduled to be completed on Thursday August 17,2023. The resurfacing of this project is scheduled to occur on Sunday, August 20 and is scheduled to be completed on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
This project is additional to the CTDOT’s 2023 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8 Southbound between Exits 40 & 39, Route 8 Southbound & Northbound Waterbury between Route 73, and I-84 Interchange. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
