The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Interstate 395 northbound and southbound in Griswold and Plainfield.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 11.15-mile segment of I-395 northbound and southbound in Griswold and Plainfield (including on/off ramps). The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Wednesday evening, June 14, 2023, through Thursday morning, August 24, 2023. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday evening, August 20, 2023, through Friday morning, October 13, 2023.
Work will end at 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning, June 30, 2023, and will resume at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, July 5, 2023, due to the July 4 Independence Day holiday.
Work will end at 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning, September 1, 2023, and will resume at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, September 5, 2023, due to the Labor Day holiday.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2023 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
Motorists can expect lane, ramp and shoulder closures to occur on I-395 northbound and southbound from 0.26 mile south of the Route 201 begin overlap to 0.45 mile south of the Plainfield/Killingly town lines. One (1) state trooper, crash attenuator vehicles, variable message board, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday evening – Friday morning).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
