Installation of High Friction Surface Treatment on State Roads in Ellington, Tolland, Somers, Stafford, and Union
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that construction work on Routes 30, 83 and 190 in Ellington, Tolland, Somers, Stafford, and Union will begin November 6, 2023. The project consists of high friction surface treatment (HFST) application and removal/installation of pavement markings at horizontal curves on State-owned and maintained roads.
CTDOT Project No. 0171-0489 was awarded to Waters Construction Company, Inc. at a cost of $2,999,989.00 on October 2, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed October 28, 2024. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

There will be alternating one-way traffic on Routes: 30, 83, 190, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.
