The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that construction work on the Interstate 691 and Interstate 91 Interchange in Meriden will begin February 23, 2023.
CTDOT is starting the first of three projects designed to improve traffic flow at the I-91/I-691/Route 15 Interchange in Meriden. The purpose of this project, CTDOT Project 79-245, is to reduce congestion at the left-hand off-ramp from I-691 eastbound to I-91 northbound, and along I-91 northbound heading toward the Middletown Rest Area. The project will also construct safety improvements on I-691 eastbound and I-91 northbound.
CTDOT Project No. 0079-0245 was awarded to O&G Industries at a cost of $66 million on November 1, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed by October 18, 2025. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill, CT.
