The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a wrong-way detection system conduit installation project will be performed at the Exit 18 off-ramp from Route 2 eastbound to Route 16 in Colchester.
The project consists of installing a wrong-way detection system and will require a temporary ramp closure. The nighttime project work is scheduled for Monday, October 31, 2022, with a rain date of Friday, November 4, 2022.

Motorists can expect a ramp closure to occur on the Exit 18 off-ramp from Route 2 eastbound to Route 16 in Colchester. Variable message boards will be set up prior to the work beginning. One (1) state trooper, crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The ramp closure will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
