Windsor Locks Train Station Improvements

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that construction of a new train station and traffic shift along Route 159 will begin on October 3, 2022.  Church Street access from Main Street will be permanently closed in both directions.

The project includes a new train station, the realignment of Route 159, construction of a cul-de-sac at Church Street, new traffic signalizations on Route 159 at Church Street and Spring Street, and the installation of a multi-use trail.

 

DOT Project No. 0320-0016 was awarded to Walsh Construction at a cost of $22,965,410.06 on July 15, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed on April 4, 2025.  This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 5 New Haven.

 

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

 

There will be one lane closure in each direction on Route 159 Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

DETOUR INFO

 

Church Street will be closed permanently and traffic will be detoured onto Spring Street.
