The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that tree trimming with a contractor crane/tree crew will begin on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be alternating lane closures throughout the work.
The project includes removing and/or trimming dead and/or hazardous trees. Healthy trees which do not affect the safe travel of the state roadway will not be removed.
DOT Project No. DOT01703525CN was awarded to Distinctive Tree Service at a cost of $226,150 on July 27, 2022, and is scheduled to be completed September 15, 2022. This project is administered by the Bureau of Highway Operations, Office of Maintenance, District 2 in Norwich.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
There will be alternating lane closures on Route 156 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 pm. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
