The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a tree removal operation will be performed on Service Route 642 (Washington Street) in Norwich.
The tree removal operation will require the use of a crane for the removal of a hazardous tree within the State’s right-of-way. This project will affect traffic at the intersection of Service Route 642 (Washington Street), Route 169 and Route 2 in Norwich. The tree removal operation is scheduled for Sunday, June 26, 2022. The rain date is Sunday, July 17, 2022.

Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Service Route 642 (Washington Street) in the area of the Leffingwell House Museum in Norwich. The tree removal work is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
