Due to the existing condition of the structural steel, any truck that exceeds 16 tons is restricted from using the East Haddam Swing Bridge, which carries Route 82 over the Connecticut River in Haddam and East Haddam, until further notice.

Alternate Connecticut River crossings such as the Arrigoni Bridge in Middletown/Portland or Baldwin Bridge in Old Saybrook/Old Lyme should be used.
