The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that any trucks that exceed 16 tons are restricted from using the East Haddam Swing Bridge, which carries Route 82 over the Connecticut River in Haddam and East Haddam, beginning on November 11, 2022.

Due to the existing condition of the structural steel, any truck that exceeds 16 tons is restricted from using the East Haddam Swing Bridge, which carries Route 82 over the Connecticut River in Haddam and East Haddam, until further notice.

Vehicle weight restrictions signs, as shown below, will be installed in the near future, and routine enforcement has been scheduled with the Connecticut State Police and Department of Motor Vehicles.
