Stage 2 for Replacement of Route 154 in Middletown

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the commencement of Stage 2 work for the replacement of Bridge #02100, Route 154 over Bible Rock Brook in the city of Middletown starting September 8, 2022. 

 This project consists of replacing Bridge #02100 with a new three-sided precast structure, new wing walls, footings, and approaches.

DOT Project No. 0082-0321 was awarded to Spazzarini Construction Company, LLC of Enfield, CT at a cost of $1,578,979.00 on March 18, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed on November 30, 2022.  This project is administered by the Office of Construction – District 1 in Rocky Hill.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Traffic is anticipated to be shifted onto the newly constructed Stage 1 portion of the bridge on September 8, 2022 and remain in an alternating one-way traffic operation via Temporary Signalization until approximately November 30, 2022. 

Motorists can expect traffic operation impacts on the following Roadways U.S. Route 154 (Saybrook Road) in Middletown Monday through Friday between 9a.m. to 3 p.m. and p.m. to 6 a.m. an Saturday and Sunday between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m.
