The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 1 in Groton.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 2.79-mile segment of Route 1. The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Tuesday evening, September 13, 2022, through Thursday morning, September 29, 2022. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday evening, October 2, 2022, through Saturday morning, October 29, 2022.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2022 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 1 from the junction of I-95 (Jewish War Veterans Memorial Highway) to Service Route 649 (South Road) in Groton. The work schedule for this project is Sunday through Saturday from 7 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
