The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and paving resurfacing project will be performed on Route 8 in Shelton.
The project consists of milling and paving resurfacing .16 miles northbound and .20 miles southbound on the Route 8 Exit 14 on-ramps and off-ramps in Shelton. This project is scheduled to occur Tuesday, September 27, 2022 through Wednesday October 5, 2022. The milling segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 through Thursday, September 29, 2022. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, October 2, 2022 through Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2022 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8 from Exit 13 on-ramp northbound to Exit 14 on-ramp, Route 8 from Exit 15 southbound on-ramp to Exit 15 off-ramp. The work schedule for this project is Sunday through Friday between 7:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
DETOUR INFO:
Ramp closure of Exit 14 northbound off-ramp. Detour Exit 15 northbound off ramp left on Main Street then left on Bridge St and left on Howe Ave.
Ramp closure of Exit 14 northbound on-ramp. Detour Exit 14 on-ramp northbound from Howe Avenue bridge No. 0571B to Route 8 northbound.
Ramp closure of Exit 15 southbound off-ramp. Detour Exit 13 off-ramp southbound right on Bridgeport Avenue, then right on Constitution Blvd. South and enter Exit 13 on-ramp northbound to Route 8.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
