The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime lane closures and a ramp closure with detour on Interstate 91 (I-91) will take place on Friday night, July 15 to Saturday morning, July 16.
The reason for this work is to remove existing sign foundations and set concrete median barrier, as part of the I-91 Charter Oak Bridge Project.
CTDOT Project Numbers 0063-0703 and 0159-0191 was awarded to O&G / BHD, Joint Venture at a cost of $240 million. Work began on April 1, 2019 and is anticipated to be totally completed by October 18, 2022. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Hartford, CT. The I-91 Charter Oak Bridge Project is anticipated to be completed by October 2022.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
- The two left lanes on I-91 Southbound will be closed from Exit 28 to Exit 25, from Friday night, 7/15 at 8:00 PM to Saturday morning, 7/16, at 8:00 AM.
- The left lane on I-91 Southbound will be closed from Exit 28 to Exit 25, Saturday morning, 7/16, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
- The two left lanes on I-91 Northbound will be closed from Exit 24 to Exit 26, from Friday night, 7/15 at 8:00 PM to Saturday morning, 7/16, at 9:00 AM.
- The two left lanes on I-91 Northbound will be closed at Exit 26, Saturday morning, 7/16, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Access to I-91 Northbound from Route 3 Northbound and Southbound will be closed and traffic will be detoured to the, Friday 7/15 at 8:00 PM to Saturday, 7/16 at 11:00 AM.
