The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the commencement of work for the installation & revision of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons on State Roads in various towns, starting April 1, 2022.
This project consists of installing/retrofitting Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) in District 1 (Central CT). The installing/retrofitting of RRFBs will include any and all work associated with the provision and installation of the RRFB equipment that meets the latest Department Standards and will either be solar-powered or hardwired.
DOT Project No. 0171-0454 was awarded to NYConn Corporation of Danbury, CT at a cost of $499,711.00 on November 9, 2021 and is scheduled to be completed on August 19, 2022. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction District 1, Rocky Hill.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
Motorists can expect lane closures on the following roadways: U.S. Route 5 (East Hartford), Route 10 (Plainville), Route 30 (South Windsor), Route 529 (Willington), Route 75 (Windsor), Route 159 (Windsor), Route 844 (Wolcott). Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. & 6 a.m., and Saturday and Sunday between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m.
