The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing an upcoming scheduled lane shift set to occur on the Milford Connector (SR796) in Milford on August 9, 2021. The lane shift is necessary to facilitate ongoing construction activities associated with the replacement of the Wheelers Farms Road Bridge (Bridge 01446) over SR 796 in Milford. The lane shift will remain in place until late fall of 2021.
On Monday, August 9, 2021, a right lane shift on the Milford Connector will occur on the the west bound side to move traffic to the left lane before each successive on-ramp. This tactic provides a free lane for incoming vehicles to accelerate and eventually merge into the free-flowing left lane. The main goal of the progressive lane shift and merging is to provide ample workspace along the right shoulder as well as a clear unobstructed lane through the construction zone for vehicles entering the Milford Connector from the I-95 south ramp.
