The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of work activity for the replacement of roadway illumination systems on various state roadways.
The project consists of replacement of the existing lighting fixtures, underground circuitry, light standard foundations, and lighting cabinets at the following locations:
- I-91 from Exit 8 through Exit 13 in New Haven, North Haven and Wallingford
- Route 40 from I-91 to Whitney Avenue in North Haven and Hamden
- Route 22 and Route 5 overlap from State Street to Washington Avenue in North Haven
- SR 702 from I-91 Exit 13 to South Colony Street in Wallingford
- Route 25 and Route 111 Interchange in Trumbull
- I-95 from Commerce Drive Bridge to the Yellow Mill Channel Bridge in Bridgeport
DOT Project No. 0173-0504 was awarded to A.M. Rizzo Electrical Contractors, Inc., at a cost of $9,095,708.00 and is scheduled to be completed on April 3, 2023.
Beginning on June 18, 2021, motorists can expect various lane closures at the locations noted above, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM and between the hours of 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM, and Saturday and Sunday between Midnight and 11:00 PM.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
